I was able to make some pretty good, even chains for a project. The weight helps tremendously but dont' give up on the first or even the fifth go around. Stick with it b/c this product does work.

It took me a couple of tries, but once I got the hang of it I have found it works really well. Though is says you can only use it with lighter weight yarns, if you add a little more weight to it (I find using a couple of 3/4" nuts from the hardware store) you can even use worsted weight yarn.

I love , love, love this product!!! It makes the most consistent and even I cord ever. What would have taken me at least two weeks of knitting boiled down to minutes. If you hold your left palm against the belly of the I cord maker with the yarn evenly flowing through it while you crank with your right hand you will have a beautiful I cord. It is very easy to thread and use. I plan to weave a small rug, and knit a pillow to match. Happy Crafting,

I purchased these knitters for my nieces - 5 and 7 - when they were visiting me. It looked complicated, but it is NOT. The girls immediately caught on and have been creating ropes of knitting all the time ever since. It is good for coordination and manual dexterity, I imagine. It's fun and it can be done anywhere! It's very well designed. I've used traditional spool knitters with crochet hooks and this is far better. The prongs have grooves to make getting the hook under the loop easier. The hook itself is comfortable and has just the right bend. While I still like to hold the yarn for proper tension, the holder works surprisingly well and gives learners one less thing to think about. The rotating prong hoops are similarly unnecessary but convenient. I'd recommend it for an experienced adult, too.

I bought this for my 4 year old who has been begging me to teach her to knit. I knew she wasn't ready for needles and hoped this would be simple enough for her to do - and it is! I showed her how to loop it once and then she was going solo. She was pretty good after about 30 minutes and it's been keeping her busy for hours. She's using rainbow yarn, which works well because she can easily track her progress with the different color stripes which she finds rewarding.
