Easy to use and simple to understand. Replaced valve springs on a 22re and am glad I have it in my tool kit now. Best if used with some king of a magnet (preferably a stick/extendable magnet) to collect the valve guides as they become loose. Watch a youtube video before using if you're unsure.

I am not an experienced mechanic. Used this to install the valve spring, cap and valve retainer on to the valve of the Koler CV20 engine. Try to do without the tool and the retainer keep push off by the valve stem. Much easier with the tool and done in the first try.

I used this to replace valve springs on a Mopar 318 engine. After the 4th valve spring I welded an old 3/8" drive socket to the top of the handle so I could use a cordless drill to turn it. Saved my fingers some wear and tear. I also lubricated the threaded rod so that it turns easier. I have had no slippage issues or clearance issues. The tool seems to be well made and durable.

Would recommend it for replacing parts valvetrain parts with your head still installed. I used a leakdown tester to pressurize the combustion chamber to keep the valves closed.

This valve spring compressor works great on 22RE engines! It's a little tricky getting the fingers aligned perfectly on the valve spring so that they don't slip off while compressing but overall, it does the job.
