First of all: this stud finder works exactly as you would expect. I am very happy with this one! It comes with clear instructions and is very intuitive to use. It is extremely accurate and makes my home improvement projects so much easier. I have used it to put up a lot of shelving and it has been very reliable to find studs and electric currents in my wall. Make sure to read the instructions first to avoid any confusion. Sometimes you need to do multiple scans to establish exact stud location. All in all, this tool works great and you can't beat the price for what you get.

This technology is able to locate the actual wood stud and is therefore more useful to us. (It also has various modes that also allows it to function as the magnetic type, and locate steel nails, for example.) My advice to anyone needing a stud finder, try this product rather than the magnets. Also, this one is intuitive to use and I was able to put in the battery and locate a stud before reading any of the instructions. However, be sure to read the instructions because it addresses how to use the various modes and perform calibration. I give this 5 stars based on its performance.
